I don't know if this has already been covered here but...

Okay, first Question:  I am wondering if any of you guys know if Medicaid will cover a full hysto and under what circumstances they will cover it.  I'm 34 and have no children.

I had a doctor tell me that if you bleed very heavily it might be an option, but that they like to try other things first, to kind of exhaust their options before they turn to surgery.  I also have heard (although I don't know if this is true) that if you have Poly Systic Ovarian Syndrom (PCOS) that causes you a lot of pain, then that could be a reason to get one, too.  I don't know how true that is, but I do have very painful PCOS.  I have had a PAP-Test, a very long time ago, and I am very afrid to have another, but will comply if that's what I need to have done to get a hysto.   There is a family history of cevical cancer in my family--two of my cousins had it in their 20's and my aunt died of it when quite young, too.

Second Question:  I am wondering if anyone knows if Medicaid will cover a "breast reduction" or mastectomy as a "preventative measure"?
