Top Surgery and Hysto in NYC
Just adding my 2 cents to the archives, i have a personal blog site where i discuss all of my surgeries from hysto, top, and then lower surgery. I had my hysto (TLH-BSO) with Dr Zoe Rodriguez , wonderful dr and experience no visible scars I had my top surgery (bilateral peri arealoa with liposuction for contouring) with Dr. Paul Weiss, very respectable and kind hearted man he is a wonderful surgeon with many years of expertise. Both of the above surgeries were COMPLETELY funded using mediciad, so for those unsure if there is coverage please check all of the resources out there. My lower surgery is in Dec. with Dr. Miroslav Djodjevic in Belgrade Serbia very excited to experience things 8D To read more and see pictures of my surgeries feel free to view my blog (www.toyneboi.wordpress.com) or I have pictures on transbucket Salaam Current Mood: accomplished |

2 Weeks Post Op.... Free Nipple Grafts
Hi Guys- I just posted an update to my journal with some photos of my chest at 2 weeks post op. Keyhole peri-areolar with free nipple grafts (FNGs). I didn't see a lot of info or photos about Nipple Grafts on this site so I thought I would share. It's kinda freaky looking, so having a point of reference for guys considering FNG might be helpful. Feel free to ask me questions. http://jasper-t.livejournal.comBest, -Jasper |

CHEST SURGERY AFTERCARE - Alternative guide - E-Zine
[2 days ago I posted this article and I had a lot of feedback and critism which I am now taking on board. So I have changed some things in my post. I do not want to go into a political discussion here about Herbal medicine Vs Phamasuticals. So I will just make some alterations.]
I had surgery one month ago. I developed huge hematomas and infections under my left nipple.
Since then I have done extensive research and decided to use alternative medicine to heal. The results have been remarkable and so I am writing an alternative to usual guide to caring after chest surgery based lessons I have learned from my individual experience and also from accredited research sources. Read further if you are interested in alternative health or pharmaceuticals are not working for you.

My Recent Surgery I am still figuring out how Live Journal works and where the various intersections are with the different FTM groups. I posted this earlier today to the FTM Forum group, but I am reposting it here at ftmsurgeryinfo since it seems like a more appropriate place for this subject matter. Your feedback and tips are appreciated. Thanks, JasperHi Guys, I am new to the FTM Forum and LJ, so I thought I would introduce myself. I recently moved to Manhattan from SF. Unfortunately I don't know many trans guys here yet, so I am glad this forum exists. 6 days ago I had my top surgery with Dr. Beverly Fischer in Baltimore, MD. I had a great experience, ( Read more... ) |

Post surgery sagging
Dear FTm surgery guys! how are ya, hope your all well. Well I had my surgery!! finally. I went with Dr Pichet. this is the story. I had consultation and the pictures looked amazing and he really knew what he was talking about. BUT the reason I won't be going topless soon was expected due to a mutual choice me and Dr pichet made. We decided on the double incision. But he said coz my breast were not sagging and not very big that he wold not make the incision above the nipple (so removing the whole of the breast inc. nipple) he would instead make incision below, keep the nipple how it is. And later I could resize the nipple (if I want) when all the blood supply had grown back, so there would be no risk of loosing the nipple as you do with nipple graft. I agreed with this, as I did not really want grafted nipples and was happy to have this option. This meant I anticipated that there would be some sagging and that this would probably shrink back and if not he could do the other technique with not problem. Ok, so now I have some sagging. , my nipple if sagging about 3 cm below desired place. Can anyone give any tips to help the skin contract? (without chest exercise as I can"t do that now). Detox diets? Vitamins? Herbs? Health/body Treatments? massage? Thanks guys! X |

Tightness
Hello all, I had top surgery on Dec 29 W/Fischer (perri areola) my healing has been a non-issue over all. My Q is has anyone had a adhesion of the skin, not the scar tissue? I seem to have a really tight spot under my arm pit area and it doesn't move freely like the other side. Not painful, just tight. Any Takers? Thank-x |

Dr. Alter experiences? and therapist letters..
Hello all, I'm 20 years old, trans living in southern California trying to patiently wait out till I have enough money for surgery. I am seriously hoping by the middle of this year or this year at all, period to get it. (I've been saving for quite some time.) I honestly haven't paid to much attention to all the surgeons out there. I already knew there were some good ones in California anyway, so I would not really have to travel much. But now since it seems closer and closer to the time I may get surgery, I have been actually looking and really contemplating on either Brownstein or Alter, I am more favorable to alter though. I was reading up on the latter posts and didn't see much info from anyone who's had him as a surgeon, mostly just Brownstein. I was wondering if anyone out there had Alter as a surgeon, and what your experiences may be. I was reading on his website the requirements, two letters from two different therapists. And as a prolific doctor I can understand this, but does Brownstein want the same? I don't mind jumping through any extra hoops with what I believe is the best and more worth the time and effort. It's just I might have a hard time finding another therapist that actually specializes in transexuals. I went to one and she absolutely was not for me so I'm really afraid to go back to that one. Call it prideful, but I imagine there has to be ones that actual SPECIALIZE in that area and not just say they do to get more money. So any help with that would be much appreciated. And a price idea from him would be great, for some reason I'm really afraid he will cost more. But what I like about him is the results he has an that he does not favor or do the keyhole surgery, which I could be a participant for. I do not want unnesssary scarring, and I love his results. I fortunately have a very small chest. Smaller than any of the examples on his website and I can hardly see any scarring.. And brownstein does the keyhole surgery so I'm really not up to that now.. I guess I should shop around, or perhaps just ask if he doesn't have to do the keyhole surgery, but a consultation from him is $500 so what the hell am I supposed to do? :/ tl;dr In short, I would just like to know if anyone out there had any experiences with Alter and for a therapist that specializes in trans people.. Post-surgery binder questions?
Hey, So I had a bilateral mastectomy with Dr. Brownstein a week ago, and I've just been told I can take the binder off to shower, but that I have to wear it the rest of the time for another week. I've been suffering from a horrible heat rash because of the binder; it's so bad he wondered if I had an infection when he took the binder off today and prescribed antibiotics just in case (though I'm pretty sure it's heat rash because I had one on a scarification just last month-- I'm prone to them), and making it so I can't actually tell what parts of me are sore from surgery (and thus I should be careful about pulling/straining) and what parts of me are just intensely irritated skin. One week after surgery, what is the purpose of the binder? Why am I wearing it and is it necessary to wear it 24 hours a day other than showering? I just want my skin to heal; the rash has honestly been the worst part of the recovery, believe it or not. |

Price Difference?
Hey. I was wondering if there is a price difference for surgeries if you live in the area. I live very close to San Francisco, and would like to get top surgery. I wonder if the price is lower than the 7,000 most people report because no travel/hotel fees are needed. Does anyone have any experience in this area or know anyhing? Thanks! -Lucas |

Alternative explanations of double incision scars?
Has anyone ever successfully convinced someone (who doesn't work in medicine/health, obviously) that their scars from double incision are from a completely different, not trans related surgery? Maybe broken ribs? Other trauma? I can't find many pictures of surgeries on google that look all that similar. I have surgery with Melissa Johnson in about a week and am playing around with developing an alibi to make myself feel more comfortable with the idea of future public shirtlessness. I'd probably never use it, I'd just want to know I could. |

Help? I'm in Olympia, WA. I'm a 16 year old FTM looking for a psychiatrist, or whoever can get me on the path to hormones. If anyone can direct me to someone in this town, or Seattle, or anywhere close to Olympia or Seattle, that would be great. These people are just so tricky to find. lol I'll probably cross post this. |
